I Am Allen Sculpture - You're Welcome Here
Found at the Fort Wayne Airport, this sculpture is one of 15 installed in communities across the county as part of the celebration for Allen County's Bicentennial year in 2024.
Artist: Matthew Plett. Artist Description:
When I was matched with the Fort Wayne Intl. Airport the first thing I pictured is how this sculpture mural will be a first impression for anyone flying into our city. The phrase "You're Welcome Here" is one of inclusion, diversity, and a warm hello. The goal was to show the relationship of nature, the sky, and flight. The colors are bold yet fun and adventurous and it all comes back to the message, "You're Welcome Here."

I Am Allen Sculpture - The Hoagland Express
Found in Hoagland, IN, this sculpture is one of 15 installed in communities across the county as part of the celebration for Allen County's Bicentennial year in 2024.
Artist: Bryan Ballinger. Artist Description:
My design features a friendly cow on a train that is pulling a railroad car full of pancakes, a chicken playing a fiddle, and a frog farmer. I chose to make this in the style of a children's picture book as that is very family friendly and incorporates my background as a children's book artist. Hoagland has a railroad history, as well as farms, a pancake breakfast, and even some bluegrass musical events, hence my subject matter.

I Am Allen Sculpture - Day's Rest
Found in Grabill, IN, this sculpture is one of 15 installed in communities across the county as part of the celebration for Allen County's Bicentennial year in 2024.
Artist: Tim Parsley. Artist Description:
"Day's Rest" reflects the beauty of the landscape at day's end and the peaceful rest it brings. The farmstead grows calm as the chores are finished, the children are tucked in for the night, and a lone horse stands silently watching the setting sun bring another day to a close. The scene is meant to evoke the satisfaction of a day's work and the steadfast rhythm of the earth's stillness before the sun rises again tomorrow.

I Am Allen Sculpture - Blooming in St. Joseph
Found in St. Joseph Township, this sculpture is one of 15 installed in communities across the county as part of the celebration for Allen County's Bicentennial year in 2024.
Artist: Jordan & Andy Kurzen. Artist Description:
Saint Joseph Township has grown into a bustling part of Allen County's northeast side over the years. We tell the story starting at the bottom of the sculpture using botanicals -from a band of wild river plants like the Swamp rose mallow, to a layer of crops grown there like corn and soybeans. A painted pattern of perennials fill the top to represent flowers found around the business and shopping areas of the township. Designing a monogram and icons to celebrate the many activities and traditions of the area, as well as local landmarks and logos, adds a graphic element to the expressive floral brushwork, bringing the artists' two styles into one bright piece. St. Joseph Township is blooming, and we wanted to embody that history and pride in this mural.

I Am Allen Sculpture - Downtown Rat
Found in Promenade Park, this sculpture is one of 15 installed in communities across the county as part of the celebration for Allen County's Bicentennial year in 2024.
Artist: Terry Ratliff. Artist Description:
I captured the historic downtown Calhoun Street scenes in grayscale, and within the bustling scenes I've highlighted industry, cable buses, and famous storefronts, like Murphy's and Wolf and Dessauer. The sculpture is located beside Promenade Park, and I wanted to celebrate another gem in our city: Parkview Field, the home of the Fort Wayne TinCaps, a Minor League Baseball team in the Midwest League. Our recognizable skyline continues to evolve, and it was an honor to share some of Fort Wayne's story through this piece.

Artist: Debera Kuntz. Artist Description:
I have collated many "keepsakes" of Indiana in my mural - the state bird, flower, and even an insect! Cardinals, peonies, and fireflies are sights seen in many Indiana backyards. On the back of my mural is a nod to "Knight's" Department Store, a popular store in Zanesville when it was a newly founded city.
